Systems and specification

The document library.

The certificates, data sheets, safety data sheets, sample calculations and method statement a specification, a tender or a CDM file needs. Each document is quoted for what it is: the product's certificate is the product's, the manufacturer's figures are the manufacturer's, and HOLVEM's calculations are made for the roof they were made for.

BBA-certified productsNothing behind a form

01The library

Every document, by type.

Product documents are published as the manufacturer or the certifying body issues them. HOLVEM's own documents, the calculations and the method statement, are prepared for the project in hand and sent with a project brief or on request.

BBA Agrément Certificate 23/6963: NexSeal closed-cell spray foam

Issued by the British Board of Agrément to ThermoHoldings Limited, where the closed-cell product is named ThermoFoam Nexseal 2.0. Three product sheets: pitched roofs, external walls and suspended timber floors, each assessed in new and existing domestic buildings. The certificate belongs to the product; HOLVEM applies it, and specifies commercial applications from its own calculations.

BBA Agrément Certificate 23/6845: SucraSeal open-cell spray foam

Product Sheet 1, pitched roofs, issued to ThermoHoldings Limited, where the open-cell product is named ThermoFoam Sucraseal 0.5, and assessed in new and existing domestic buildings. The product’s certification, not HOLVEM’s.

Sample warranty certificate: 25-year workmanship warranty

A real HOLVEM certificate with the client’s details removed. Every installation carries HOLVEM’s 25-year workmanship warranty, with its scope, exclusions and claim route set out. The manufacturer’s 25-year product warranty is issued separately, directly by the manufacturer.

Data sheets

Product data sheet: Enverge NexSeal LE

The manufacturer’s declared figures for the closed-cell system, including thermal conductivity λ 0.027 W/mK. Quoted as the manufacturer’s, never as a HOLVEM performance figure.

Data sheets

Product data sheet: Enverge SucraSeal

The manufacturer’s typical figures for the open-cell system, by US test methods: density, aged thermal performance, vapour permeance, air permeance and dimensional stability. Quoted as the manufacturer’s, never as a HOLVEM performance figure.

Coating data sheet: DC315 intumescent coating

The coating applied to the cured foam where a reaction-to-fire class is required: coverage rate, wet and dry film thickness, drying and recoat times.

Data sheets

Coating data sheet: Bostik Idenden ET-150

A water-based, sprayable vapour barrier coating that dries to a flexible, water-resistant film. HOLVEM uses it to prime rooflights before spraying, and as a sealing coat on pipework and ductwork. Not a fire coating.

Safety data sheets

Safety data sheet: NexSeal LE, A-side (isocyanate) component

The safety data sheet for the isocyanate component of the two-part system, for the CDM file and the site risk assessment.

Sample calculations

Sample U-value calculation: a metal standing-seam flat roof

A real HOLVEM calculation on BS EN ISO 6946, anonymised. 50 mm NexSeal LE between timbers plus 250 mm mineral wool, the timber at five per cent of the area, the combined method and the air-gap correction: U 0.14 W/m²K. Shows the format an assessor receives.

Sample calculations

Sample condensation risk analysis: the same roof, BS EN ISO 13788

The simple (Glaser) method with the BS 5250 design climate: surface condensation and mould risk, and the month-by-month interstitial result at each interface. Shows how HOLVEM reports a result the simple method flags, and what it does next.

Sample calculations

Sample WUFI summary: the same roof, BS EN 15026

The dynamic hygrothermal simulation for the same build-up over ten years: total water content, the moisture in each layer, and the numerical quality of the run. Shows why the roof was specified as it was when the simple method was inconclusive.

Method statement

Method statement and risk assessment: profiled metal roof underside

A sample RAMS for the commonest commercial application: the sequence bay by bay, containment, ventilation, the cure and the coating, and the checks before the roof is handed back. Written per project for the building in hand.

02Where each document goes

Three files, three sets of documents.

The same library serves the assessor checking a calculation, the quantity surveyor building a tender file and the principal contractor's CDM file. Each needs a different set.

01 · For the assessor

The calculation and its basis.

The U-value calculation with its assumptions listed, the condensation risk analysis and, where it was run, the WUFI summary; the product data sheet the λ came from; and the BBA certificate for the product.

Each figure in the calculation is traceable to a document here.

02 · For the tender

Certification and classification.

The BBA certificates for the products, the reaction-to-fire classification report for the coated system, and the coating data sheet. Insurance certificates are sent directly, on request.

HOLVEM's other confirmed claims for a tender: nationwide coverage, endorsed by architects, engineers and commercial clients, and expertise across thousands of projects.

03 · For the CDM file

Method, risk and safety.

The method statement and risk assessment written for the building, the safety data sheets for both components of the foam and for the coating, and the sequence the roof is worked in, bay by bay.

Prepared per project; the sample shows the format.

Checking a document against a drawing?

Send the drawing, the specification or the calculation you are checking, and it is read against the roof as it will be built. No contact details are needed to read anything in the library; the upload path needs a reference or a postcode.
